Can you imagine Brendan Fraser as Ike?  Ciwt couldn't the entire time she sat watching him play that role in Pressure. But that's Ciwt.  Most audience members in reviews thought Fraser was outstanding as Ike. And probably they are younger than Ciwt who actually remembers Ike as both General then President. 

She also couldn't imagine being so riveted by a humorless, personality less, autocratic English military officer.  But she hung on every word and movement of Jack Scott playing just that type of man. To her, Scott and the 'pressure' of the tight and true D Day decision making plot pulled the movie together and made for informative, involving, tense watching.

Ciwt would recommend going. But she was also an American History major and has been a buff ever since. Many reviewers thought Pressure might be boring for viewers who don't enjoy history.

So, dear readers, the choice is up to you.  Pressure indeed.

Hello, Goodbye, Hello, Goodbye, Hello..... --- Days 15/157 - 166

Walks: All over San Francisco

So a loyal reader asked "What have you been doing since May 23?"   Ie, why haven't there been any CIWTs?  

The answer is "Houseguests."  Back to back to back houseguests.  Since life around here usually consists of Ciwt and cats Tawny and Puff, houseguests completely confused our routines. In good ways Ciwt thinks.  She enjoyed having friends around, seeing them relate comfortably to her new home, and just generally enjoying their company.  Even her cats came out from hiding and figured out how to train new people to give them attention and hugs.

Then there was the staring into space, wandering around her once again houseguest-less space, stripping beds, washing and folding towels and generally readjusting to old routines.  Same for cats who sniffed and looked around, then settled back into following the sun to their usual hang out places.  

Finally, to settle in herself, Ciwt went to the movies.  Stay tuned for her thoughts on those....
