No, of course not, you say.

But something happens when you stand in front of David Hockney's enormous images
  take them in for a while, and then

go outside    (< the real thing)

and realize what my friend, Andrea, so aptly describes:  while looking at the paintings, i kept thinking "this is an artistic viewpoint/enactment of nature."  but then, outdoors, looking at all the trees, light and colors, i think that his paintings ARE what nature looks like, he stopped just short of photo-realism somehow.
